Projekt dofinansowany przez Muzeum Historii Polski w Warszawie w ramach programu „Patriotyzm Jutra”
W roku 2017 Centrum Dialogu im. Marka Edelmana realizuje nowy projekt edukacyjny, w całości poświęcony dzieciom. Poruszamy w nim tematy związane z dzieciństwem na przestrzeni wieków, powstawaniem Praw Dziecka oraz opisujemy warunki w jakich muszą dosrastać dzieci z całego świata.
Projekt edukacyjny "Raport 2017: Dzieci" jest naszym sposobem na upamiętnienie trzech tragicznych wydarzeń z Litzmannstadt Getto.
W styczniu 1942 roku Niemcy zlikwidowali Obóz romski w Litzmannstadt Getto. 5000 Romów i Sinti z Burgenlandu (pogranicze węgiersko - austriackie) zostało przetransporotwanych do obozu zagłady Kulmhof w Chełmnie nad Nerem. Ponad połowę zamordowanych stanowiły dzieci do 13. roku życia.
We wrześniu 1942 roku z Litzmannstadt Getto do obozu zagłady Kulmhof wywieziono około 15 000 osób niezdolnych do pracy. Były to dzieci do 10. roku życia oraz dorośli powyżej 65. lat. W ten sposób naziści zamienili Getto w ogromny obóz niewolniczej pracy.
W grudniu 1942 roku na terenie Litzmannstadt Getto powstał Obóz dla Dzieci Polskich, zwany potocznie Obozem przy ul. Przemysłowej. Przez obóz przeszło około 3 000 polskich dzieci w wieku od 2 do 16 lat. W tragicznych warunkach, pod okiem sadystycznych strażników, zmuszano w nim dzieci do pracy na potrzeby Wermachtu.
Rocznice tych straszliwych wydarzeń skłoniły nas do zadania sobie pytania: Czy dzisiaj przestrzegane są prawa dziecka? Czy dzieci i młodzież w ogóle znają swoje prawa?
Młodzież biorąca udział w projekcie też zmierzyła się z tymi pytaniami. Z własnej inicjatywy, popychana wrodzoną ciekawością zagłębiała się w przeróżne historie związane z prawami dziecka. Ich łamaniem i walką o ich przestrzeganie.
Efektem tych poszukiwań będą 3 numery gazety "Raport 2017: Dzieci" całkowicie wykone przez młodzież. W gazetach poruszone zostaną bardzo trudne tematy, często ignorowane przez świat dorosłych. Gazety będą dostępne poniżej.
W tegorocznym projekcie zdecydowaliśmy się zrobić krok dalej i nie zajmować się tylko terią praw dziecka. Współnie z Domami Małego Dziecka w Łodzi zajmiemy się potrzebami najmłodszych, a często już ciężko doświadczonych przez los ludzi.

When the Taliban took over the Swat valley in Pakistan in 2007 and started closing private schools in order to limit the access to education for girls. Two years later, 11-year-old Malala Yousafzai started blogging on the BBC Urdu service, encouraged by a radio correspondent from the nearby Peshavar. He also suggested that she write under the pseudonym, 'Gul Makai', meaning 'cornflower'. She wrote about the authorities' activity and everyday life in her village.
I heard the story of Irena Szczurek, a survivor of the Holocaust, during an international students' meeting organized by Marek Edelman Dialogue Center. It was good to listen to a wartime story featuring a stranger who became so intimate with the saved child despite adversities and human tragedy.
There are no children, there are people. This famous quotation from Janusz Korczak is the foundation of modern pedagogy. Korczak promoted the idea of paying equal respect to children and adults as early as the beginning of the 20th century.
Persecution and harassment of the Gypsies started when Adolf Hitler came to power. The Nazis propagated superiority of Germans over other races and nations, particularly over Jews and Gypsies. The German national socialism created the concept of Übermensch, or 'superhuman', morally and intellectually superior to the 'subhuman' (Untermensch), and adopted it for its purposes. The first manifestation of the concept was a ban on marriages with people of other races (included in the Nuremberg laws of 1935). Jews and Gypsies were also forbidden to serve in the military and in state institutions.
On September 5, 1942, the so-called 'Great Shpera' began in the Łódź ghetto. This name comes from the German words Allgemeine Gehsperre – a strict prohibition on leaving one's house, imposed on the Jews incarcerated in the Litzmannstadt ghetto. Jewish and German policemen searched all the houses and took away everyone who was unable to work; mainly the ill and infirm, but also children under the age of 10. An estimated 15,000 people were deported to death camps during the Great Shpera.
