The film was made on the basis of a project of exchange of Polish-German students from the Berufsbildende Schulen II Emden school and the School Complex of Technical University of Łódź. The first part of the film was shot in November 2018 in Emden, the second part of the film was made in March 2019 during the visit of the German guests in Łódź.

The film documents how the young people taking part in the project discover the history of persecution of Jews in Germany and Poland during the Nazi era and the fate of Jews deported from Emden to the Litzmannstadt Ghetto in 1941. They study documents from the State Archive in Łódź and the City Archive in Edemden, and learn about the history and culture of both cities. The project was awarded the Student Peace Prize of Lower Saxony in 2014.
