A presentation of the film My Happiest Day

Can the title luckiest day in one’s life be their first day of stay at the camp in Auschwitz? This perverse question is answered by Marian Turski, born as Mosze Turbowicz in 1926.

In Michał Bukojemski's film, he also talks about human solidarity at the Łódź ghetto, the nightmare of the death march, his post-war activity at the Polish United Workers' Party, his many years of work at the Polityka weekly magazine and his involvement in the establishment of the POLIN Museum. As a participant of the events and their observer, he leads the viewer through the decades of the Polish-Jewish history.

“It's an extraordinary feeling to watch a film about a man who has survived the cruel history and who is also a close friend from the editorial team”. - writes Zdzisław Pietrasik from "Polityka" in his review.
