Few researchers have done as much to commemorate the history of the Łódź ghetto as Professor Lucjan Dobroszycki (1925-1995), a historian who was a Ghetto Survivor himself and who subsequently devoted almost his entire professional life to researching and documenting the Holocaust and commemorating the Łódź ghetto. By the end of the 1950’s Dobroszycki had developed and prepared for print fragments of "Dawid Sierakowiak's Journal", and then wrote about the journal of Szłomo Frank. In 1963, together with Danuta Dąbrowska, he began working on the "Chronicle of the Łódź Ghetto", two volumes were published, subsequent ones were ready, but the anti-Semitic campaign of 1968 broke out and they were never published. In 1969 Dobroszycki and his family left for the United States, but he continued to focus on the history of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto by working at YIVO, the Jewish Research Institute in New York. In 1994 he prepared the American edition of a selection from the "Chronicle". Dobroszycki died on October 24, 1995.

75 years after the liquidation of the Liztmanstadt Ghetto and on the 15th anniversary of the Survivors' Park, Lucjan Dobroszycki and his wife Felicja (also from Łódź) will receive a certificate and a symbolic Tree of Remembrance. Memories of Dobroszycki will be shared by: Marian Turski, who went exactly the same way as Dobroszycki, and Professor Robert Shapiro of Brooklyn College.
