Co-organizers: Jewish Community Center, Social and Cultural Association of Jews in Poland
Venue: The Reicher Synagogue | 28. Rewolucji 1905 r. St.
The band will be composed of:
Dawid Gurfinkiel - vocal
Marek Kądziela - guitar / arrangement
Maciek Kądziela - saxophones
Marcin Zabrocki - keyboards
Piotr Gwadera - drums
The “Jidyszkajt” concert will consist of Jewish religious songs as well as pre-war songs in Yiddish. They will presented in new arrangements prepared by musicians. Songs sung in Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish will be
presented in a new style - in musical arrangements combining elements of jazz, rock and electronic music.
“Jidyszkajt” means Jewishness, the Jewish way of life, but also the Jewish soul, and this is what will be characteristic of this project.
The concert will be performed in a place special for the Jewish community in Łódź – at the Reicher Synagogue, located at ul. Rewolucji 1905 r. – the only synagogue in Łódź that survived World War II. Jewish
melodies will help revive this place, which is normally out of use, and will be a beautiful complement to the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the liquidation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto.
