„Radegast Station. History. Memory”

Museum of the Independence Traditions in Łódź – The Radegast Station Branch | 12. Pamięci Ofiar Litzmannstadt Getto Ave.

„Radegast Station. History. Memory” – temporary exhibition

The Radegast Station, the former siding, is one of the most important European monuments of the Holocaust. The history of this place is inextricably linked with the function of the ghetto’s railway station it served from 1941.

The exhibition presents its history and transformation from a supply point, the place of handling the goods manufactured in the ghetto, into the place of tragedy of those deported towards the Holocaust. An important element of the exhibition is the presentation of the post-war history of this place, from the limitation of its use to granting its fragment a commemorative character. The exhibition has been prepared on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto Annihiliation Monument.
