Join us on September 17th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. for a BOTZ/Marshes concert performed by Maniucha Bikont and Assaf Talmudi!
About BOTZ/Marshes project:
Ukrainian Polesia region is the most geographically widespread marsh in Europe. Songs sung in its villages, describe women's fate, longings, work life and nature. Songs turn into magic spells and lullabies. The concert opens with a capella singing. Maniucha's voice is a starting point for interaction with musicians and musical improvisation. Melodies processed, merged and live-directed by Assaf Talmudi create a sound web. The audience finds itself in the middle of this sound landscape with the ability to move around within the space. In each spot the performance sounds differently.
Bikont and Talmudi were fellows on music residency at Keret's House in 2016. The duo performed in Israel at music festivals like Tectonics, banding up with Shay Tsabari they performed in the legendary Levontine 7 club, with Rafael Rogiński they performed at Jerusalem Piyut Festival, they also gave concerts with local musicians in Japan.
Currently they are staying in Poland as a part of their Polish-Japanese-Israeli residency as IMA Songlines.
