75th anniversary of liquidation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto

75. Rocznica Likwidacji Litzmannstadt Ghetto

You are cordially invited to the official commemoration of the 75th anniversary of liquidation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto, which will be held in Łódź on 29 August 2019. This is a symbolic date – in August 1944 the last residents of the closed district were taken by the Nazi occupiers from the Łódź ghetto to Auschwitz-Birkenau. The ghetto was then liquidated.

Łódź, which was a very important centre of Jewish culture, science and trade before the war, remembers about its residents and about thousands of Jews from nearby towns and from many European cities who lost their life here or were taken to extermination camps.

This year will see the jubilee 75th anniversary of those tragic events. We would like to invite those who lived – Survivors from the Litzmannstadt Ghetto, their families all over the world, as well as Łódź residents and everyone else wishing to pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.

The main celebrations will start on 29 August 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Jewish Cemetery in Łódź and at 12:30 p.m. at the Radegast Station Memorial. Accompanying events will take place between 25 - 31 August. The event schedule will be sent by mail until the end of June 2019.

It will be an honour for  us to welcome  such a distinguished guest to the  commemoration  of the 75th anniversary of liquidation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto.

The commemoration are being organised by the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre in Łódź (www.centrumdialogu.com).

We would be grateful if you could kindly confirm your attendance to the organiser by e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.or by calling (+48 42) 636 38 21 / +48 506 155 911.
