THE MEETING WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH.

Our Jewish Holocaust Survivors' family members are leaving us behind. With traumas and lessons, we had to endure and learn. We know that trauma is often transmitted through words and behaviors. Consciously or subconsciously.
As children, we were innocent recipients of our parent's trauma, their fears, surviving skills, and protection. Their loud reminiscence, grief, or their silence and aloofness.
In a world, where Antisemitism is showing again, we would like to look and listen to our different experiences. From different parts of the world, different narratives, and emotions. We would like to hear your testimony about the heritage our survivors had left behind and how it continues living with us. And our families.

Ala Elczewska - psychologist, specialist in psychotraumathology, born in Wrocław 1949, from 1969 lives in Denmark. Both parents were survivors - father from Lvov , mother from Litzmannstadt Ghetto, Auschwitz and Halberstadt camp. During the war father lost his father but his mother and two sisters did survive. Mother lost her parents, younger sister and husband, did not talk about their losses with children. Both parents were active in rebuilding Poland after the war. My mother conceptualized The Survivors Park in her beloved Łódź.
Uri Wizenberg - was born in Israel after the war. Graduated the Tel Aviv Law School and currently is a lawyer in Israel. Since 2018 – chairman of the Organization of Former Residents of Lodz in Israel. Both his parents are holocaust survivors. Father from Warsaw, mother from Lodz. His mother Hadassa was born in Lodz in 1927. She still lives in Tel Aviv.
Aron Krochmalnik - pursued professions in literature, theatre, the pharmaceutical industry and real estate. For the past 3 years, he has focused on historical and family research and writing. Lives in Germany. His father Josef, born in Lodz in 1923, survived the ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau, a death march, and several camps including Gross-Rosen, Flossenbürg and Dachau. His mother from Tomaszow Lubelski, who recently died from Covid-19, was one of the “Tehran Children”.

It is our second meeting after this year “Reverberations of Holocaust Memory” during the official commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the Liquidation of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto, which was held in Łódź on August 2020
