In November 1941, on the territory of the Lodz Ghetto, there was a small area isolated – so called the Gypsy Camp(Zigeunerlager). Germans closed there more than 5 thousands of Gypsies – Roma and Sinti – brought from Burgenland on the Austrian-Hungary borderland.

On 8th January, a conference "Responsibility to Protect - the Legacy of Jan Karski" and an exhibition called “Jan Karski. The man of freedom” ("The World knew - Jan Karski's Mission for Humanity") were held in the European Parliament.
